Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre

AMEB qualifications are not included as inputs in the calculation of the Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR).

However, some Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) may take some AMEB qualifications into consideration for admission, depending on their individual schedules. Students are advised to contact the relevant HEI directly to confirm their admission requirements.

For further information, please visit the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC) website or contact 1300 467 822.

Queensland Certificate of Education

The Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) recognises most AMEB qualifications as contributing towards the Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE).

View the AMEB qualifications that contribute towards the QCE at Queensland Certificate of Education Recognised Studies: Australian Music Examinations Board.

Students in Years 10 and 11 are encouraged to advise the AMEB Qld State Office of their Learning Unique Identifier (LUI) registration date and number when issued by their school.

For AMEB qualifications to be able to contribute to their QCE, Year 12 students must have the following no later than 31 October every year:

  • completed their examinations
  • provided their LUI registration date and number to the AMEB Qld office.
